Oregon Coast Trip September 2001
Bruce and John took a shake down ride down the Oregon coast - 415 miles in 7 days - Astoria, Or to Crescent City, CA. Great Tip, Good weather and met many neet people.

The beginning of the Ride!
Recumbents loaded and ready to go!
Just one one the many scenic views!
Sarah and John
Bruce and John met Sarah at a rest stop near Depot Bay, Oregon. Sahra is from England, quit her job and set off on a 3 year bicyle tour or the U.S. west coast(90 days), Australia (1 year), New Zeland (1 year), and cross theU.S. on her return to England(3 months). She was fully self contained down to 2 quart cans of Budwiser! She continues to maintain contact with John via E-mail.
Light House
Just one of the many light houses along the coast.
Port Orford Bay and the Whales
We stopped in Port Orford to look at the Humpback Whales that were feeding. Hard to see their spouting and tails, but they were there! Tom (in yellow) is from Maryland and had been on the road 67 days when we first met him at our first camp site at Newhalem Bay State Park. He flew to Seattle and then biked to Jasper and Lake Louise and was on his way to Santa Barbara, CA. He road 6 days with us. The year before he biked across the U.S. and gave us some good advise on our trip for 2002.
California / Oregon Border
Our record of we made it!
